Full Description

Former school. Single storey red brick building in English Bond, under a pitched gabled tile roof. Cross-wing plan. Gables have a low parapet coped with brick. There is a small flat roofed brick extension to the rear. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that there was a 'good school, with master's house attached' in the village, attended by 40 pupils. It is unclear whether this is the same building. No schoolmaster's house is obvious on the 1900 OS map of West Deeping. {2}{3} The school was closed at some point in the mid 20th century, and was converted into a village hall in the 1970s using funds provided by South Kesteven Rural Council. {4}
