Full Description

Infant School building. One and a half storey red brick building in English Bond, under a pitched gabled slate roof. Window openings have ashlar sills and lintels. Modern brick extensions have been added to the northwest. {1} White's 1856 Trade Directory states that the National School was erected in 1856, and had capacity for 200 children, as well as a house for the teachers. It is assumed that this building and the former school (MLI126677) together formed this foundation. {2} This building is marked on the 1905 OS map as an infant school. {3}
