Full Description

Former school house and teacher' residence. One/two storey red brick building in English Bond, under a pitched gabled roof of pantiles. Gabled porch. Three gable stacks. {1} White’s 1856 Trade Directory states that a school for both Theddlethorpe parishes was built in 1810. The 1872 Directory stated that a 'School house, for the two Theddlethorpes, with master’s residence, was built in the parish…. It has been considerably enlarged and improved to meet the growing requirements of the population.’ At that time it was attended by 120 children. {3} The building maintains the same plan form as shown on the 1906 OS map. {4} It is unclear when this building ceased to be used as a school.
