A structure built of reinforced concrete and thought to have been a probable Second World War pillbox was formerly sited in this location, to the north-east of Rimac House. The structure was visible on an aerial photograph taken of this area in 1953. {1}{2} The pillbox can be clearly discerned on an aerial photograph taken of this location in August 1971. The structure is of the rectangular, type 23 form of pillbox, with an open central chamber for a light anti-aircraft gun. {3} No trace of the structure can now be discerned on the Google Maps aerial photographic layer. The structure was likely demolished at some point in the 1980s or early 1990s, prior to the start of the Defence of Britain recording project. {4}
