Full Description

Two extant ranges of former cow sheds, with a third on the eastern side of the complex that has been demolished, at Newton Grange. The cow sheds date to the mid 19th century. They are built out of brick, with pitched roofs covered in pantiles. The cow sheds have a covered walkway on the northern end. The eastern elevation is open on the 3 northern bays, with stalls for the cows. The southern elevation has a modern garage door, and the western elevation has no openings. The easternmost cow shed would likely have had a similar layout, but was demolished prior to recording. All that remains is the eastern elevation, which now acts as a boundary wall for the complex of buildings. An orchard has been planted where the eastern shed was located. A modern addition, built in the late 20th century, has also been built to the south of the orchard. {1}
