Full Description

Former dairy, dating to the mid 19th century, located off the western end of the threshing barn (see PRN 58259), Newton Grange. Likely originally a single storey building, but since extended and raised to 2 storeys. It is built out of brick, with a modern or repaired pitched, pantile covered roof. The southern elevation has 2 doorways, and an arched entrance to stairs that lead to the upper floor. The stairs are made out of brick with stone treads. The western elevation has a blocked doorway on the ground floor, and there are no openings on the northern elevation. The interior of the main floor has two rooms, separated by the stairs. The first room is the dairy, with 3 to 4 stalls, and is located on the eastern end of the building (closest to the threshing barn). The second room is open, with a stone or brick trough along the nothern wall. The upper floor has 3 rooms. {1}
