Full Description

The stables are located along the north side of the farmyard at Church View Farm, Spridlington (see PRN 58223). They were built between 1885-1905, and replaced a smaller building that previously stood in the same location. The stables are a single storey, rectangular building. It is built out of coursed limestone blocks, with red brick dressings around the windows and doors, and red brick quoins. The hipped roof is covered in red clay pantiles. The southern elevation has three doors, each with a window to the right of the doorway. The interior is split into three separate bays, with the lower portion of the partition walls built out of red brick and the upper portion out of wooden boards. There are built-in troughs in the western and central bays. The building was re-roofed and the doors were replaced in the late 1970s or early 1980s. There is a small, derelict, single storey, red brick extension on the east end of the stable block. {1}{2}
