Full Description

Features relating to medieval settlement activity in this area were identified in December 2010, during trial trenching at Tebb's Land, Whitehorse Lane. The features comprised a small fragment of medieval wall and the remains of a pit, from which a single sherd of mid to late 12th century pottery was recovered along with a small iron object, possibly a ring. The wall was of solid construction and appeared to be aligned on an east to west axis, although this could not be conclusively proven, given the remnants small dimensions. A single redeposited fragment of 13th to 16th century roof tile was also recovered from an overlying layer of post-medieval made ground. {1}{2}
