Description
TF 07 NW SCOTHERN MAIN STREET (north side) 5/65 The Manor House II House. c.1820. Yellow brick in Flemish bond with ashlar and stucco dressings, hipped slate roof, 2 brick wall stacks and 1 valley stack. L-plan. 2 storey, 3 bay front with paired bracketed overhanging eaves and entasised angles to the main front. Central 6 panelled door with plain fanlight set in a stucco surround with panelled reveals, covered by a contemporary glazed porch with stucco pilasters and dentillated frieze to flat lead roof, flanked by single canted glazing bar sash bay windows also with pilasters and dentillated frieze. To first floor are 3 glazing bar sashes with Venetian shutters and slightly cambered brick arches. The interior has a geometric stair with turned decorative balusters, wreathed handrail and carved string. In the right hand room is an original white marble fireplace with urns to the corners.
