Description
GOSBERTON WESTHORPE ROAD TF 23 SW (north side) 4/72 Yew Tree Farm- house II Farmhouse. C16, refronted late C17, raised and altered early C19, altered C20. Originally timber framed. Red brick in Flemish bond, pantile roof with one coped brick tumbled gable, 2 gable stacks. Single storey plus attics and 2 storey, 3 bay front, chamfered plinth, gable band. The left hand bay is slightly advanced and single storey with a 2 light glazing bar sliding sash and brick segmental head. In the roof a raking dormer with 2 light glazing bar sliding sash. To the right a C20 porch, and then a 2 storey parlour block raised in C19, with a glazing bar sash with rubbed brick arch to each floor. Inside the rear wall plate of the original frame is visible with 2 dowelled mortice holes for vanished wall posts. Other posts survive in the thickness of the walls, and above the left hand fireplace is a chamfered bressumer. In the hall is a late C17 chamfered girder with ogee stops. Listing NGR: TF2177931148
