LINCOLN SK9772SW MILL ROAD 1941-1/6/220 (East side) 15/08/73 No.16 GV II Former band rehearsal room, now a house. c1857. Brick with stone lintels and slate roof with 2 brick stacks. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Square plan. North end has 2 doors, that to the left with the lintel inscribed "Drummer's" (sic). This door slides vertically, and was so designed to allow easier access for men carrying drums. The conventional door to the right has an overlight. Street front has 2 glazing bar sashes on each floor, those above being smaller. INTERIOR has stone steps from the left door and a blocked round headed arch into the next building.
