Description
LINCOLN SK9771NW MOTHERBY HILL 1941-1/8/274 (West side) 08/10/53 West Hill House II House, now flats. Mid C18, altered early C19. Brick, rendered and colourwashed, with stone dressings and hipped slate roof with 2 rendered ridge stacks. Plinth, moulded wooden eaves. 2 storeys, 5 bays. U-plan. Central doorcase with pilasters and pediment, glazed door with moulded panels, flanked on each side by a triple sash with glazing bars. Above, 3 glazing bar sashes, the central one smaller. Left wing has a triple glazing bar sash and a single sash above. Right wing has a large glazing bar sash and a smaller one above. INTERIOR has a stairwell with enriched cornice, and a dogleg winder stair with scrolled handrail and stick balusters. Said to have been the home of James Hilton, brother in law of the painter de Wint. Listing NGR: SK9734371737
